Through advanced filtration technology and high - quality materials, we ensure that our DPFs meet the most stringent environmental standards helping to improve air quality and protect the environment.
With the high attention paid to environmental protection in our country, both diesel and gasoline vehicles now implement relatively strict environmental standards. Some car owners have noticed that their National VI diesel vehicles are equipped with DPF devices. So what does DPF on a diesel vehicle mean? Actually, DPF refers to a particulate matter trap.
What does DPF on diesel cars mean
DPF is a particulate matter trap specifically designed for diesel vehicles, which has significant effectiveness in purifying and treating vehicle exhaust. Everyone knows that the primary destructive components of diesel vehicle exhaust are nitrogen oxides and small particulate matter. We can install a particulate matter trap in the middle of the exhaust pipe to absorb the particulate matter in the exhaust, thereby making the vehicle exhaust meet national industry standards.
The interior of the particulate matter trap contains non-ferrous metals such as platinum, rhodium, palladium, etc. After the vehicle exhaust pipe undergoes this metal material, it is catalyzed and reacted. At the same time, it undergoes a bag filter set by its internal aggregation, and the vast majority of particulate matter is filtered out.
What should be done when the DPF light is on?
1. Park a high-end car in a spacious and well ventilated area, then press and hold the start function button to start the vehicle;
2. Search for the "Reconstruction Function Key" on the center console (usually located on the left operation panel of the center console or front seat), press and hold the Reconstruction Function Key, and the onboard computer will remind you that "Reconstruction has been run", and then the vehicle will perform DPF cleaning on its own;
3. During processing, the vehicle will automatically increase the speed ratio and maintain it at 2500 rpm for 5-10 minutes. At this time, there is no need to manipulate the vehicle or stop the engine;
4. After the car computer prompts "reconstruction", the DPF light festival will automatically fade away.
What are the adverse effects of removing DPF
It is not recommended for everyone to remove the DPF, as the following adverse effects may occur after removing the DPF:
1. There is no basis for annual review. DPF can efficiently filter particulate matter in organic exhaust gas. If the DPF is removed, there is no doubt about the vehicle exhaust during the annual inspection, but;
2. Causing the malfunction indicator light to remain on for a long time. After the DPF is removed, the DPF fault indicator light on the vehicle dashboard will remain on continuously, and some car models will continue to limit the vehicle's energy output.
