Mazda's SPCCI spark controlled compression ignition technology precisely regulates the temperature and pressure of the combustion chamber, allowing gasoline to achieve compression ignition under certain operating conditions and reducing particulate matter emissions from gasoline engines. However, this technology has not yet been widely applied and may face many challenges in practical applications, such as higher requirements for fuel quality and more complex engine control systems. Hybrid technology has also been a popular development direction in recent years, such as Toyota's THS hybrid system and Honda's i-MMD hybrid system. By using an electric motor to assist the engine, the engine maintains a high-efficiency operating range and reduces the generation of particulate matter. However, the cost of hybrid technology is relatively high, and the recycling and disposal of batteries also face environmental pressures.
