DPF filter


DPF filter, as an application of wall flow particulate trap, also adopts a closed wall flow structure, aiming to efficiently intercept and capture particulate matter in exhaust gas. The regeneration process also includes two methods: active regeneration and passive regeneration, aimed at restoring the filtering performance of the filter and preventing clogging.

After the exhaust gas with PM enters the honeycomb carrier of DPF, PM will be effectively intercepted. As the exhaust gas flows out, most of the PM particles have been filtered out by the DPF. The carrier material for DPF is usually chosen from materials such as cordierite, silicon carbide, or aluminum titanate, depending on the actual situation. It is worth noting that only carriers with wall flow structures can be referred to as DPF.


DPF is not only used to collect soot, but also to trap substances such as engine oil, additives, and sulfates produced during diesel combustion, which are commonly referred to as ash. It is recommended to perform a dust cleaning operation every 300000 kilometers or two years while meeting the diesel and engine oil usage conditions specified in National VI regulations. It should be noted that the frequency of dust removal is influenced by various factors, including the operating condition of the engine, the quality of the oil used, and the quality of the fuel.


Cleaning process: The DPF particulate trap assembly is cleaned by heating and blowing. The specific steps are as follows: First, remove the DPF and weigh its mass. Next, heat the DPF particulate trap assembly in an environment of 600 ± 50 ° C for 20 minutes. After heating is completed, compressed air is used to blow back the DPF particulate trap assembly at a pressure of 13 bar for 20 minutes. If the DPF is severely clogged, the blowing time can be appropriately extended. Finally, remove the DPF and weigh it again to confirm the cleaning effect.
