Below are two methods for preventing GPF blockage:


The first method is to reduce the idle running time of the engine, especially in the low temperature season of winter, or in low temperature areas with higher latitude. Due to the lower ambient temperature, the GPF cannot reach its operating temperature for a long time, and the engine idles in the same way. Long term low-speed operation not only fails to heat up the GPF, but also leads to the production of large amounts of particulate matter such as carbon deposits. So, avoiding the engine idling for a long time is an effective way to prevent particle trap blockage.


The second method is to drive at high speeds frequently. The principle of preventing GPF blockage by driving at high speeds is the same as the active regeneration of GPF. As long as the particles inside GPF can be fully burned, GPF blockage can be prevented.


The above two methods for preventing GPF blockage can be used for all vehicle models, but for some other special vehicle models, it may be necessary to add high-grade fuel and high-quality engine oil to effectively prevent it.
