Through advanced filtration technology and high - quality materials, we ensure that our DPFs meet the most stringent environmental standards helping to improve air quality and protect the environment.

Can you distinguish which one is the particle trap from the inside of the cut particle trap and the three-way catalyst?

I believe most people can guess correctly. The left side is the particle trap, the right side is the three-way catalyst, and the left side is noticeably darker. There is more black material inside the honeycomb shaped ceramic body.

Upon closer inspection of the ceramic body of the three-way catalyst, there are virtually no black impurities present.

And there are many black substances on top of the particle trap, which can be easily wiped off with a gentle wipe of the hand.

Speaking of which, some car enthusiasts may have questions. Since the particle trap is prone to accumulating tiny particles, why not modify it so that the particle trap can clean up the accumulated particles on its own?

In fact, car manufacturers have long thought of this point. When the particles captured by the particle trap reach a certain level, the pressure difference sensor installed on the particle trap can detect the blockage and transmit the signal to the computer. Through the set regeneration or purification function, it becomes a substance that is harmless or less harmful to the environment.

However, the regeneration function of the particle trap also has defects, as it cannot clean some particles left inside the ceramic body, such as calcium oxide, phosphorus pentoxide, iron oxide, etc. Over time, blockage may occur.
