Through advanced filtration technology and high - quality materials, we ensure that our DPFs meet the most stringent environmental standards helping to improve air quality and protect the environment.

Since DPF is a filter, with the continuous collection of particulate matter, there will definitely be times when the compartment is full, and the exhaust pipe is almost blocked, resulting in poor exhaust emissions and a decrease in vehicle power.

So the question arises, how do we know if the DPF is clogged? What prompts will the car have? What do we need to do?

DPF can be classified into three types based on the degree of blockage: mild blockage, moderate blockage, and severe blockage. There will be warning lights of different styles on the dashboard.

If there is a blockage, it will seriously affect the power of the vehicle. At this point, DPF regeneration is required, which involves a series of engine control strategies to rapidly increase the exhaust temperature in the short term and use high temperatures to burn off the carbon soot particles captured on the DPF, thus restoring its smoothness.

But there are three ways for vehicles to regenerate: passive regeneration, active regeneration, and service regeneration

Mainly talk about the first two regeneration methods:

1. Mild and moderate blockage

For mild and moderate blockage situations, the vehicle will undergo passive regeneration during driving, during which there will be indicator lights to prompt, such as the following two pictures. If this problem occurs, do not panic and drive as you please. During this period, the vehicle may increase the speed to heat up the DPF and burn off the clogged carbon particles.

2. Severe blockage

If it is severely blocked (with the following indicator lights), we will need to manually operate it. Please follow the following steps:

TIPS

1. Need to drive the car to a spacious and away from flammable and explosive materials and pedestrians as soon as possible;

2. Park the car steadily, shift back to neutral, pull the handbrake, be sure not to turn off the engine, and keep the water temperature above 65 ℃;

3. Then press the DPF regeneration switch to allow the aftertreatment system to perform regeneration work; During regeneration, the engine will inject diesel into the DPF system, burning the filtered carbon particles at high temperatures to remove them;

4. Generally, parking regeneration takes about 40-50 minutes. When the carbon load indicator light goes out, it indicates that the parking regeneration is successful.

Due to the fact that the exhaust pipe temperature during DPF active regeneration can reach over 500 ℃, it is important to stay away from crowds, gas stations, and other flammable and explosive places when performing active regeneration! At the same time, the vehicle also has a regeneration button that can be turned off, but be sure to turn it on in a timely manner!
